  • Square Enix is famous for RPGs like Final Fantasy and other such titles and now they’re making a name for themselves on mobile, through the Chaos Rings series. The latest in the series is Chaos Rings Omega. This mobile RPG keeps the 3D graphics and combat system of previous Chaos Rings titles, that have arrived on Android not so long ago.

Similarities with titles like Vagrant Story or Final Fantasy are pretty clear here, especially with FF 12 and FF 9. The title is by no means cheap, going for $13. Square Enix has a bit of a negative fame when it comes to the high pricing it applies to its mobile games. Chaos Rings is a series of turn based RPGs that were quite big on the iPad and iPhone and now they’re getting ported to the Android world as well. Omega is a prequel that takes places 10,000 years before the events that took place in its predecessor.

Its storyline is based on a ship called the Arc Arena and a tournament that involves couples fighting each other. The main character of the game is Vieg, so apparently you don’t take the roles of more characters like in Chaos Rings, the original one. The game is based on exploration, puzzle solving and random encounters with beasts, ogres and other critters. The game is available here.
