  • After a pretty long wait, Rovio’s Angry Birds Star Wars is finally available on the Play Store and it has hit both Android and iOS just one hour ago. There’s the free, regular version and the HD one. I have to say that owning an Android device rocks, since iOS device owners have to pay for their fix of Angry Birds and Star Wars from the start.

The title takes up 44 MB of storage and it requires Android 2.2 and up. The Empire’s evil Pigtroopers are at the core of the game and you’ll have to fight them with all your powers. Rebel birds are striking from a hidden base and they’ve managed to steal the secret plans for the Empire’s PIG STAR. As you may have figured out this is a Star Wars themed Angry Birds, with the red bird being Luke Skywalker and using lasers to fend off enemies after he’s thrown from the slingshot.

The pink bird is princess Leia and the yellow bird is Han Solo, shooting his laser gun. The explosive black bird is now Chewbacca and even R2D2 found a place in the cast. Darth Vader is obviously a pig and the Death Star looks like a swine, too. Over 80 levels are promised here, in locations like Tatooine and the Pig Star. Laser turrets, Tusken Raider pigs and generally other Dark Side menaces are included. Are you a Jedi bird? If so, then you must download the game from here, in the free version, or from here, in the HD one for $2.99.
