  • Dropbox is among the most popular online storage services. Their official apps for the different mobile OS’s have been improved in a timely matter through updates. The Dropbox app for Android is probably the most advanced, having a number of features you wouldn’t find on any other platform.

After the last update in July, the Dropbox Team is preparing to bring another major release for the Android platform. A preview build (version has been sent to a number of users via email. This version’s features include:

    • Video thumbnails (before and after image above)
    • Better video playback on ICS and Jelly Bean
    • UI improvements for Nexus 7 tablets
    • Open Dropbox files directly from other apps
    • Other bug fixes

Users that want to test the latest build are welcome to do so then leave opinions on Dropbox’s forums. We expect a final build on the Play Store in the comming weeks, though no official statement regarding a stable version has been made available.

Download the latest preview build from the Dropbox Forums.
