  • A couple of weeks ago everyone was talking about Vine and they were excited by it and now we already have a competitor, one that actually offers more features than its rival. It’s called Cinemagram and it even gets an Android app ahead of Vine.

Cinemagram is a startup based on short animated clips, just like Vine. It debuted on the iPhone 2 years ago and it comes to Android today. The new application offers some basic “cinema” tools and allows users to create short animated GIFs and share them via social networks. Cinemagram fills a void left by the absence of Vine as a platform for making short vids on Android.

Vine was so popular that it was bought by Twitter and then took off on iOS as an app that allows you to capture 6 second videos. Cinemagram comes with a more expanded product range, with filters, editing options and even masking areas of the capture. You can animate only parts of the larger frame and there’s also an FX button that may mask stuff. You can also select the speed and looping to create movie-style effects. The app is up for download here for free.
