  • The number of Android games is in constant rising, with new and complex titles becoming available every day. Still we must keep in mind that the platform has the ability to run new as well as retro titles, with the best combination being the ported classics and with improved graphics and gameplay.

Boulder Dash was first released in 1984 and became an immediate hit, enjoyed even 20 years after. Rockford is the hero of the game, the character controlled by the player. His goal is to collect diamonds and avoid contact with monsters and falling rocks. Though it may sound pretty simple it isn’t. As the level increases the game can become very difficult but the challenge is so rewarding that its very hard not to become addicted.

HeroCraft Ltd have managed to bring their own version of Boulder Dash – XL, offering many improvements over the original title. The game keeps the same but up to new standards retro quality graphics, replacing the hero with a robo type character. In terms of the gameplay, the developer has found it wise to bring new level designs, though keeping the original style and uniqueness of the action-puzzle-dexterity combination.

Boulder Dash – XL is one of the titles to purchase, now available on the Google Play Store.
