  • NAVIGON just updated its Android application with some features that may come in handy. These include the ability to open up Google Street View before leaving to some remote place, in order to get to know the location better. Also, while on the road the app will now show you 3D elevations for better orientation.

The true 3D elevation views are received from NASA’s height and terrain data service and it’s priced at an extra $9.99 for this app. There’s also a new feature called Last Mile, that will save the position where you park your car and give you walking directions to the destination. This means that you get guided to your car in case you get lost in that big old mall (provided that NAVIGON has indoor maps). In order to celebrate the arrival of the new version and increase sales, NAVIGON is now offering up to 25% off its Android application until August 12 2012.

So, in North America the app costs $39.95 instead of $49.95, while NAVIGON for Android US goes for $29.95 instead of $39.95 and Panorama View 3D add on can be bought for $6.95 instead of $9.95. You can get the app from here and know that it also comes with a Click on POI feature, that allows you to click into the map and get a lot of points of interest around a point.
