  • With everyone talking about Call of Duty Black Ops II, there’s another shooter that has got everyone talking and it’s not even one for the PCs or consoles… it’s Gameloft’s incredibly cool Modern Combat 4 Zero Hour. Promising to arrive this fall, this incredible title alone may be a reason to buy a brand new device with 3D graphics.

And now we get some details from an editor who actually got to play the game for an hour or so. Gameloft’s Modern Combat has been dubbed a Call of Duty clone over the past years, making its reputation suffer a bit. However, now with Zero Hour things are about to change, as the fourth game in the series takes Call of Duty “flattery” to a new level. This prides itself in being a war simulator, one that evolved in terms of quality quite a bit. The first level of the new Modern Combat involves storming a beach, hinting at the Normandy attack in Call of Duty 2.

You’ll be attacked with gunfire and explosions immediately and all will flash around you, while rocks fly nearby. Motion blur and Havok physics are present and you’ll be truly overloaded with information. You go behind cover and reach your target area… barely. You use an RPG to take out an AA gun, firefights are 3D and intense and that’s about everything the editor was allowed to unveil. It all sounds crazy good, just like the trailer below. Who’s excited for this release?
