Mini Ninjas Review: Fun But Repetitive Ninja Slicing Game from Square Enix (Video)
Square Enix is famous for being the company that created the Final Fantasy series, but also the publisher of major games like Tomb Raider. They’re also pretty serious about their mobile initiatives, including games like Mini Ninjas, a title that I’m reviewing below.
This game is an endless runner from a side scrolling perspective and I played it on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite. This game allows you to play as the ninja Hiro and run on walls, slice enemy samurais and unlock funky characters in the process. You’ll also collect coins, that allow you to unlock a variety of suits, spells and even pets.
Among the characters you can unlock there’s a huge guy with a mallet and a girl with a coin magnet. You can cast spells, such as the tornado and change outfits once you buy new ones. The audio is very nice and the number of traps makes the game challenging. Spikes, fire, rocks and tons of samurais will make your progress rough.
In the end we give this game a 7.5 out of 10, because it’s fun, but it’s also repetitive, since nothing changes once you repeat play. At least the background varies. You can download the game here.
