Microsoft’s Office Suite is Coming for the Mobile Platform

  • Rumors about Microsoft preparing mobile versions of its Office Suite have surfaced a while back and the latest news come from Czech tech news site – IHNED. According to them, Microsoft’s product manager Petr Bobek has stated that Microsoft is planning the release of Office 2013 for Android and iOS in the first quarter of next year.

    If you were expecting an official version of Microsoft’s Office suite on your smartphone, you might get a chance soon. While there are very good alternatives on the Play Store, Microsoft might just bring to the table that something to make it the best, of course depending on the price it will be offered for. IHNED claims that Office 2013 will be available starting the first quarter of 2013. The info was revealed by Petr Bobek, product manager for Microsoft Office, at a press conference. Taking it one step forward, Microsoft is planning on making Office 2013 available for as many platforms as possible. The PC version can be pre-ordered starting next week, though it will be available within a few months since the official launch of Windows 8 on October 26th. Below the official statement:

    “As we shared previously, Office Mobile will work across Windows Phones, Android phones and iOS, and we have nothing additional to announce today about retail availability of the new Office.”
