  • Microsoft may have launched the Office suite for iPads months ago, but only today it came to the iPhone and made big steps to reach Android. Microsoft is offering you the chance to preview the Office apps on Android, by requesting an invitation here.

The full version will launch in early 2015, after all the feedback is achieved. Microsoft also updates the iPad apps, so it provides a more consistent experience across all the devices. Users will now be able to create and edit documents on the iPhone, iPad and Android device for free and you won’t even need an Office 365 subscription, which is good news. Till now, the Office experience on tablets was only about viewing or sharing documents.

If you do pay for subscription you get some extra features, like the ability to use the latest desktop Office apps on a Mac or Windows PC, as well as unlimited cloud storage via OneDrive. Microsoft is still working on a touch friendly version of Office for Windows and with a bit of luck you may get a preview of that while playing with it on Android. Did you sign up for the preview?
