  • Android consoles are more and more widespread, with the latest player in this area being Mad Catz and their M.O.J.O device. This is supposed to be a new Android-based gaming console, set to be released in December, priced at $250.

The price tag applied here is more than double the price of the OUYA, so there has to be something extra in the mix. For this money, you can even get a decent console of the last generation. What M.O.J.O offers for sure is improved hardware, compared to OUYA. We’ve got a Tegra 4 CPU instead of a Tegra 3, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and a microSD card slot with support for up to 128 GB.

Android 4.2.2 is the OS here and we’ve got all the needed ports in the mix: a USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI, Ethernet and audio jack. The controller is also a looker and comes with a clip to use with an Android phone. Play Store and Amazon Appstore are preinstalled, so that’s also a plus. The product is on preorder now at the Mad Catz site, but the number of units is limited.
