  • I am sure you are all well aware that Microsoft’s Office Suite is not the only alternative for productivity there is. Besides, we are talking about a solution that you have to pay fore, when there are so many very good free alternatives out there that could get the job done just as well.

When it comes to PC OS’s Linux has finally reached the level where it’s considered a more than viable alternative for what Microsoft Windows has to offer. For the Linux OS most of the apps that are offered are for free, that including some software that would usually require some heavy purchasing on other platforms.

Libre Office is one of the best well-known alternatives for Microsoft’s Office. The software offers all the advanced features and is based on different components, including Writer, Draw, Impress and Calc, alternatives to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and such. For the Android platform Libre Office has been offering pre-alpha releases and continually making plans on improving till the day of a stable release. At the moment, the developers behind the project are looking for talented people to help with the project and promise that it will not be long till we can actually get a taste of it.
