  • The adventures of Lara Croft are now available on Android, thanks to Square Enix, that offers an action & puzzle title straight from the Play Store. There’s a limited time offer that involves owners of an Xperia S, Xperia Ion or Xperia Play, who will be the only ones to play the game. Afterwards I supposed that everyone will get the title on every Android phone.

The game costs $1.29 and it’s a dual stick shooter with puzzle/exploration elements. Of course, the sticks control is a virtual one. The game requires Android 1.5 and up and takes up 5MB of space, at least initially, since after the download I supposed Square will want you to install more data. You control Lara Croft, the female version of Indiana Jones, as she enters the jungles of central America and searches for the Mirror of Smoke, a potent artefact lost for ages.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is a fast paced game, as shown in the trailer below, with beautiful environments, great puzzles to solve and player upgrades, plus unlockable weapons. This title has been available on the iPhone for a while now and luckily now we get to play it on the Xbox live and Android. Keep in mind that the $1.29 price tag is a discount and will only last till July 23 2012. You can download the game from here.
