  • Jetpack Joyride is one of the most popular games on iOS and people have been waiting for an Android version for a while now. Well, developer Halfbrick Studios complied and the result is the title detailed below. We’re dealing here with a 2D side scrolling game, that gives you control of Barry Steakfries (original name), who has a jetpack on his back and moves through a secret lab.

The biggest advantage of the game on iOS is that it’s free and it’s been updated to full resolution, so it’s compatible with all iOS devices. There was an update months ago that gave players access to 15 more gadgets, available in the game store, so the game is really well kept and updated regularly. If you want to know who’s behind this, know that Fruit Ninja was also created by the maker of Jetpack Joyride. This is the kind of title that you play in short doses, in order to take your daily dose of arcade fun.

It’s also very similar to Monster Dash, that even shares some of the weapons and vehicles. The game has you controlling a machine gun jetpack on the back of our hero and you need to move left to right and tap the screen to use the jetpack. You will collect coins and powerups, as well as vehicle upgrades. You control the altitude of the character and dodge obstacles, so the game is pretty straightforward. Sadly, the game is available only in the Amazon App Store, so we have to wait a bit more till it comes to the Play Store.
