  • We’ve seen classic games hitting Android quite a bit lately and now another classic, straight from Sega is preparing for debut. I’m talking about Jet Set Radio, that will debut on iOS and Android this summer. The game is seen as the best title to ever appear on Sega’s Dreamcast console.

In its days it was praised for 3D graphics, modern soundtrack and the whole cool urban kind vibe. You get a gameplay based on platform and exploration, that’s based on tagging with graffiti various areas. The cool thing in the new mobile version is that you can use pics from your handset’s camera as graffiti. Jet Set Radio was famous for being among the first games to use cel-shaded graphics in videogames. It had a Game Boy Advance version developed by Vicarious visions and published by THQ.

The graffiti in the original game was the work of the famous Inkie, a collaborator of the uber famous Banksy. The US release of the game from back in 2000 had specialized content for Western audiences, like maps and new songs. Back then you could upload your own graffiti tags into the SegaNet and I bet it will be possible now as well. There will also be a version of the game for the PSN, Xbox Live Arcade and Microsoft Windows, not only iOS and Android.
