  • The Google Play Store Developers portal received a welcome update, one that developers in India can register to and also sell paid apps through it. India is one of the most populated nations in the world and also the place where the smartphone market is exploding at a huge rate.

Developers getting paid for their work is always good news, meaning more apps and more diverse applications will pop up. With the addition of India the list has reached 32 of countries that allow local developers to sell paid apps. The list of countries includes the likes of Mexico, Argentina, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, Canada, Israel, Italy and more. And in a piece of “positive discrimination” Indians are known for being great developers and I’ve seen a lot of people of this nationality with great ideas and in high places at Facebook, Microsoft and Google.

I expect some original apps to come from that region and also ones with reasonable prices, fit for the local market of Asia/India. One day everyone will get to share their original apps via Play Store…
