  • During CES 2013 Huawei unveiled the Ascend D2 handset and it plans to bring the P2 S model and the P2 to MWC 2013. However, their plans span to more than just handsets, as the company prepares a set top media player for unveiling. The name of the device is the MediaQ M310 and details are published below.

The M310 is just the start, when it comes to set top players made by Huawei, since they’re also planning a higher end version dubbed the M810. Reports are saying that the MediaQ M310 will debut in a couple of months and be priced around $80. Specs include a HiSilicon K3V2 ARM Cortex A9 quad core CPU, Android as the OS of choice, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of storage, a microSD card slot, WiFi 802.11.n, Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI (in and out) and a bunch of USB 2.0 ports.

There should also be SPDIF audio and a 3.5 mm audio jack. On the graphics side we get the Vivante GC4000 with support for 1080p. The M810 higher end unit will have 2 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage and Ethernet connectivity, aside from WiFi. Also, this set top box will offer two empty hard disk bays and a TV tuner.
