  • As most of you might already know, we’ve covered Google’s decision to remove all Ad-blocker type apps from the Play Store, leaving us defenseless in the face of all the methods of advertising. Fortunately there is still one, or more ways for rooted users to block most the ads.

Adblock Plus is one of the most popular forms for blocking ads, that exists in the form of Google Chrome / Firefox / Opera extensions as well as a very popular solution for Android. It is also among the app that are now banned from the Store, along with others of its kind, such as AdAway or AdFree.

The developer behind Adblock Plus, after reaching out against Google’s decision to stop all attempts at blocking ads, has now posted his app, along with specific instructions for making it work for most Android devices. The developer even posted specific instructions for some devices, such as the Galaxy S III. The Adblock Plus apk can now be side-loaded from here and then easily configured using the developer’s instructions. What you must keep in mind is that it comes with severe limitations on non-rooted devices.
