  • Not many days ago Nokia, the Finnish part of the company launched HERE for Android, a very praised mapping solution that was initially a Samsung exclusive. HERE for Android got around 1 million downloads and today we learn of a major update.

This update brings support for Android 5.0 Lollipop and I should probably mention we’re dealing with HERE Maps Beta here. The new software also includes bug fixes and increased stability. HERE for Android brings navigation and maps both online and offline and comes with turn by turn navigation, interactive maps, public transport maps, plus information about live traffic in 40 countries. There are also speed cameras included.

The app is in beta, which means you can’t find it on the Google Play Store. If you own a Samsung Galaxy phone, you can get the app using the Samsung Galaxy Apps store. If you’re running Android 4.1 or later you can get the .apk file from the official HERE website. By the way, the app also brings public transport maps and directions for over 800 cities.
