  • Robinson Crusoe Island is the largest island of the Chilean Juan Fernández Archipelago. It is also the name of a novel by Daniel Defoe that was first published in 1719 that tells the story of Robinson, the title main character, that is deserted and spends 28 years on a remote tropical island near Trinidad, encountering cannibals, captives, and mutineers before being rescued.

I’m sure that many of you have read the aforementioned novel and I must tell you that Robinson by Pixonic LLC tells the good side of the story. The player is a deserted on a remote, tropical island, and must clear the land, build tiki huts, plant pineapples and other necessary accommodations. As the story unfolds you will find other things to keep you excited, like a treasure map, a ruined temple and all kinds of tropical adventures. You will get all sorts of tasks to complete, like building a hut and improving it, each with it’s own requirements that you have to fulfill. Like most freemium games, the title offers in-app purchases that you will find you will have to rely on to complete some tasks. Completing a workshop requires boards, that can be obtained by cutting down trees with an axe that you will need to purchase.

The atmosphere of the title is similar to that of other popular games belonging to the genre. You will find similarities in gameplay to Farmville and its waiting-and-harvesting game mechanic. Robinson is full of colorful landscapes, from the green of palm fronds to the pink of the orchids, and flowers in all nuances. The graphics are pleasing and well done animations follow you everywhere in the game. One of the cons of this title is that you will quickly find that without spending some real money the game reaches a sudden stop. There is the possibility of purchasing the Premium package that will set you back $4.99.

Overall Robinson is the type of title worth giving a shot and I’m sure many of you will find it entertaining. Download it for free from the Play Store.
