Harebrained Schemes Postpones the Release of Shadowrun Returns
Harebrained Schemes are the developers behind Shadowrun Returns – a title that has been aggressively advertised and is due to arrive on all major platforms, including Windows, Mac, Android tablets and iOS iPad. The title is a cyberpunk tactical role-playing video game with some “authentic tones”, as the developer describes it.
Shadowrun Returns was set to be released somewhere in January 2013. Due to the fact that the developer has not found the time fo finalize every aspect of such a complex title, the release date has been rescheduled and the game is now expected somewhere in May or June of next year instead.
Due to a highly efficient Kickstarter campaign, the title is now most anticipated and fans will be surely disappointed by the news of the delay. On the good side, a delay would also mean a more complete and feature rich experience, with as few problems as possible. Here is the official statement from Producers Mitch Gitelman:
“It might’ve worked for the scope of the game we originally envisioned but as our ambitions (read that “features list”) grew, so did the time we needed to deliver.” He also said that going from top-down view to isometric took extra work as well.”
