  • Nexus devices have the privilege of having factory images available straight from Google. At any time, the user can install the factory images and restore the device to factory state, if for example needs to be returned for repairs. As a new version of Android becomes available, Google release Factory Images first for the versions bought of Google Play and a short time after, for the other devices sold without a contract.

The Android 4.2 update has begun rolling out for Nexus devices, such as the Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus, but also for the new Nexus family, including the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10, enabling all the new features. Among these there is multiple user accounts on tablets and widgets in the lockscreen.

It has been discovered that Android 4.2 also brought a sum of bugs, especially on the newest devices. One of these id the missing December month in the birthday settings for contacts or severe battery drainage. Android 4.2.1 was released to solve most of the issues, and Factory Images are now available on the developers official page. You can find methods of quickly installing them, using tools as the Nexus Root Toolkit.
