  • Can you believe it it’s been one year since the Android Market has been turned into the Google Play Store? Celebrating one year from the big release, Google also prepared some special offers for its faithful users.

Google Play now offers over 700k applications and games, over 5 million books and 18 million songs. It was all done through partnerships with major music labels, movie studios and publishers to bring you TV shows, music albums and magazines. Google also updated its payment methods, with phone bill charging and gift cards now included. By the way, the gift cards are rolling out to the UK this week.

As far as special offers for apps and games go, I would have expected a bit more, but this will do. The Fancy application offers you the chance to buy something with a free $15 gift card from the app and get free shipping in USA. Then, if use the app and book a hotel, you get a 10% discount. Also, the new game Yumby Smash now includes the famous Android as a playable character. Happy birthday Google Play!
