  • Google is about to add new features to its Play Games service and some of them have just leaked on the web. Most of them seem actually related to background stuff and things developers may want to keep an eye on.

I’m talking about cross platform features, achievements, cloud saves and more. The new version of Google Play Games will support game gifts, allowing players and developers to send virtual in game objects to other players of the same game. They will also be able to send them to anyone in their Google+ circles.

This is simply a way to keep people using the game and increase their fidelity. Game devs will also get features like iOS multiplayer and Google is about to roll out a Unity Plug In, to help devs using the famous tools. Enhanced statistics will be included as well, plus new versions of Google Analytics in the AdMob interface, with better insights on gains.

Tomorrow, Google has the Game Developers Conference 2014 going on, so we’ll probably learn more there.
