  • Google Play Books is far from being available everywhere but those that do get to enjoy it can purchase and read books on their mobile devices in the most convenient manner. You have the ability to read your favorite titles online and offline. You can read books on Google Play from your computer, your smartphone, tablet or your eReader device.

Google Play Books has been updated to include a new e-book location awareness feature, among other improvements. The new features list includes added highlighting, notes, dictionary, “Places” info cards, translation, sepia mode, and sliding page-turn. Translation features have also been added to the app. You can now just highlight words and phrases and tap to see an option to translate them.  A dictionary feature allows users to define a words with a tap; highlights and notes can now be added to the app as well — and they’ll synchronize across devices. A sepia reading theme and new page-turn animation round out the upgrades list.

“Sing today, when you come across an unfamiliar geographic location — a faraway city or distant mountain range — you can tap on the location to learn more about it, You’ll see an info card with a Google Map and the option to get more information by searching on Google or Wikipedia.” – according to the statement on their official blog.

Not available in my country, for now. Too bad. Tried the aplication by sideloading, but can’t buy any book. The app is very good with 3D acceleration for turning pages.
