  • The picture shown below details the traffic conditions in San Jose, Panama City, Bogota, all of that via Google Maps for Android. Google launched its live traffic feature back in 2008 and they’ve been upgrading it since. This week they’ve announced expanded coverage for the first time, to 130 smaller cities all over the United States, plus capitals of Colombia, Costa Rica and Panama.

You can see the streets of Bogota, San Jose, Panama City, but also the streets of Michigan, Portland and Tuscaloosa with full details. You get real time current traffic conditions and estimated travel times as well. Either at the PC or on the phone, you get all the info on your device and make sure your way to the airport is not obstructed in any way. Google also announced expanded coverage to parts of Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Russia and Spain.

Below you can watch a video tutorial on how to check traffic conditions on your Android device or through the web browser. You can select the day of the week and watch the map update in front of your eyes, all of that from the lower left area of the screen, in the options zone.
