  • A few days ago Google Maps for iOS received an update that gave it the ability to pull hotel, flight and restaurant reservation info from Gmail. Now the Android version of the app got the same treatment, taking it one step closer to Google Now abilities and integration.

For example, if you have emails from flight reservations, hotel booking confirmations and other sorts of reservations on your email address, Google Maps will sense them and show the info in a card like panel, when you search for those places that fit the reservations. The version responsible with this interesting update is Google Maps 7.5 and keep in mind that this feature could have escaped you if it weren’t for us, since Google doesn’t list it in the changelog on Google Play.

There could be more features included here, but Google didn’t list them. The idea is simple: you have a booked flight for Christmas and you search for the airport on the map. Well you’ll see a card of your upcoming flight attached to the search result on the map. Google’s rollout of the app is staged and you can get it from here officially or from here sideloaded.
