  • Google has updated its Google+ app for Android and introduced a few new features, as well as a fresh take on the UI. The idea is to make everything more streamlined and also give the users some Auto Awesome features.

The announcement of the new app came today via a post from Googler Dave Besbris. There are 9 new features included and the list mentions new Auto Awesome features, the introduction of Auto Awesome Stores (combines images and videos) and the app also allows creating animated GIFs. There are photobooth style images on demand and there will be no problems with the big photo libraries.

Libraries will also be browsed by date by dragging the scroll bar backwards or forwards. There are also new navigation menu options, for easier jumping between sections and new sharing options. The rollout is done gradually, so if you check out the Play Store, you may not see it just yet.
