  • As the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition and HTC One Google Edition started selling yesterday, people noticed a few novelties on these devices, on the software side. I’m talking about a new boot animation, the brand new SunBeam live wallpaper and finally a new sock camera app.

The camera .apk from the Google Edition phones has hit the XDA Developers community and works on any phone without root. The software has already been tested and installed on several phones and tablets out there without issues. People have confirmed being able to snap Photo Spheres, Panoramas, video and regular photos.

The camera app also brings the stock Android gallery and to get it you need to download the .apk from here, go to Settings, then Security and check the box for “Unknown Sources” and use a file manager to access it. Then you find the file “NewCameraApp”, open it and install it. Enjoy!
