Google Drive Gets Updated to Version 1.3; Up for Download Here!

  • Google is ready to push a new update to its Drive app this week and it’s also splitting its functionality. They’ve pushed the new Docs and Sheets apps and now they’re updating the main Drive app and removing some features.


    Users will be prompted to install Docs or Sheets if they want to edit stuff, which is not as bad as it sounds. We’ve got a rearranged slide out navigation panel with settings link in the changelog. There are prompts to install Docs and Sheets for editing and there’s a new file button in the overflow menu. I should also mention that you need the new Docs and Sheets app installed in order to edit stuff.

    You are prompted to install them when trying to view and edit anything and without them you get a view-only mode, without word wrap even. The APK available here is signed by Google and will upgrade your existing Drive app. The file is safe and version is By the way, there’s also a special Slides app coming and rumor has it that a Drawings app is also on the way.
