  • Google+ got updated today, following a series of Google Play Services updates over the past days. The social networking application has reached version 4.6 and the update brings design changes that make of think of the Material Design (Quantum Paper).

Material changes have been applied to this app this summer, but even more are available now. There’s a brand new launcher icon, that brings the long shadow and slight 3D effect of the other Google material icons. The colors are now brighter inside the app and the interface and icons have been simplified, with some of the colors removed even. The mixture between Google+ and Google Photos still goes on, slightly confusing the user.

The Google Photos app has also been revamped slightly, with a sliding nav drawer that keeps up with the latest Google design trends. The APK has been signed by Google and upgrades the app you already have installed. You can download it from here. G+ now has a red post button, more polished menus, a simpler Photos layout and overall a flatter experience.
