  • Google has not only updated its YouTube app with a beautiful new UI, but they’ve also updated the Google Maps app and added some Waze community features. Users of Google Maps will now get real time incident reports from Waze users, meaning those users will report accidents, construction works and more.

The updates will appear on the Google Maps app for Android and iOS, but only in countries like Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Mexico, UK and US, to name a few. The Waze community gets a Google Search app update for iOS and Android and Wazers will now be able to see even more search results when navigating.

The Waze Map Editor now includes Google Street View and satellite imagery to build out a realistic map and correct errors reported by the community. With such updates and evolution, is there any room for competition from the likes of Bing and Here Maps?
