  • After yesterday’s Facebook update, Google+ follows the example and gets a big time update, with loads of feature inside the social networking app. Google offers on the go profile editing, plus the ability to backup up to 5 GB of full size photos for free via an Instant Upload feature.

There’s also the option to share Android 4.2’s 360 degree Photo Sphere pictures via the mobile stream in the app. Now through Events the user can send messages to specific guests and see who opened an invitation. People can be invited via Google+ or by copying the URL of the event into an email or IM and the guests can also RSVP with the number of people they’re bringing on. Hangouts now support lower bandwidth connections, so only 150 KB are needed to be part of the fun.

Another feature is called Communities and it allows users with common interests from all over the world to come together. On Android you’ll now be able to create public or private communities, where the members share links, hangout, plan events or simply discuss on topics. Animated GIF files are now viewable inside the app and emoticons too. You can subscribe to a circle for notifications and the new app brings Google Now integration to send birthday wishes to friends.
