Google Analytics Gets Fresh Android App, Mobile App Tracking

  • Google not only gave us major updates of its important apps, such as Google+, YouTube, Google Earth and Google Maps, but also a fresh Google Analytics Android app and mobile app tracking. Mobile app analytics are added for 3 main areas: Acquisition and new users , Engagement (retention, crashes, conversions) and Outcome (app sales and in app purchases).

    The features included here allow the service to check out new and active users, measuring the number of people who launch the app daily and analyzing the most valuable segments. There’s also a tool for tracking the distribution of active app users of the newer and older versions of the app, plus a Device Overview area, to check out what handsets/tablets and OS versions your app is popular on. User behavior and engagement flow are also measured via graphs and charts, with actions and paths taken by users included.

    One can easily measure the number of purchases and revenue generated by in app purchases, using this tool easily. Google said that the Mobile App Analytics will roll out to selected whitelisted users, so you can sign up here for that and be part of the beta.
