Gmail for Android Version 4.2.1 Now Available for ICS 4.0+ Devices

  • Leaked way before the official version was actually released, the new version of Gmail hold a number of long awaited features, that not only were highly expected but also greatly improve the user experience and usability. With the new version of Gmail, is now considered to be on par, if not better then the iOS or even Symbian (Belle FP 2) mobile email client.


    GMail 4.2 brings the highly requested pinch-to-zoom feature as well as automatic resizing of emails to fit the screen. The bersion also brings a swipe to delete/archive feature that is available in the mail list view. GMail 4.2 has been officially available since Android 4.2 was released in the form of updates for the Galaxy Nexus or Nexus 7 and as standard on the new Nexus devices.

    Today Gmail 4.2.1 is available on Android 4.0+ devices and also includes the ability to attach photos and videos straight from within the email client. Another feature enables larger photo previews and gallery view for photo attachments. The usual bug fixes and performance improvements have also been included. The new version 4.2.1 is available for free on the Store.
