  • Among the features Google introduced with the launch of Android 4.2 in an improved keyboard. Using the powerful predictions already available since the first version of Jelly Bean was introduced, users can now use swipe gestures to input words that are displayed in a popup that appears before it is actually inserted.

Users of the Swype Keyboard are all too familiar with the new input method introduced with Android 4.2. If you wish to install the keyboard you can now do it on your manufacturer customized device with ease. Simply download the APK and install it as a regular app. It is probably an early release so don’t expect everything to work as it should. Also be sure to have checked “Unknown Sources” in the Security Settings of the device.

For stock Android users installing the keyboard will require that your device is rooted. The method replaces the current keyboard with the new one from Android 4.2. Download the .zip package and flash it using your custom recovery. Don’t forget to backup your app in case something goes wrong. We will not be held responsible for any damage to your device.

The version that you are about to test is an older one then the one that will be included with the final release of the OS. It still has all the same functionality though. You are welcome to give it a try.
