  • Only a short while ago Facebook decided to hold an Android related event, in order to reveal its latest accomplishments in regards to the implementation for the Google OS. With it the number 1 social network service wants to evolve into a new means of interaction and a different experience than what we’re used to on the platform.

Facebook hasn’t had that much luck on the Android platform, managing to be criticized by most users that ever decided to use it. Most alternatives available on the Store manage to provide a better experience and are to be preferred instead of the official variant. These facts are well establishes and  the social network founder promised to take a different approach for the near future.

Only yesterday Facebook launched its new Home app on the Play Store, unfortunately available for a limited number of devices and regions. Lucky for us, the guys at XDA Developers found a way to make the app work for the rest of us and the method should be pretty simple to apply. The first step would be to uninstall any manufacturer provided version of Facebook, as it is going to be replaced.

The Facebook Home apk and the main Facebook app can be downloaded from here. After that you only need to install the both of ’em onto your device and it should work. Mind you, don’t forget to check Unknown Sources in the security settings of the device, in order to install the apks.
