  • Gears & Guts is a fun and sadistic game from Glu Mobile, so this means it’s filled with purchases in app items to be bought. Anyway, this freemium title is available for free on the Google Play Store and it provides some good hours of fun. The idea is simple: run zombies over or hit them with the weapons mounted on your car.

The game has been updated recently, to version 1.1.0, that brought new powerups like invincibility and we got to play the game in that version. The game has a rock music background song, it gives you freebies each day and special offers. You can upgrade you car, get spikes, barb wire, a machine gun, laser gun and more stuff. You will perform a set of missions, that involve getting a crate from point A to point B, simply killing zombies, or guarding a base against zombies. The zombies are divided into categories, like The Walker, a standard zombie, that’s deadly in groups or the Bruiser, a big and mean zombie or the Goober, a big head green monster.

There are also zombies in flame that are dangerous to hit. The currency of the game is bolts, that allow you to buy new equipment and cars. The car choice is crazy, including a fire truck, a taco truck, a monster truck, a Ferrari and other crazy vehicles. You control the car with the on screen arrows, with the front/back on the right side and left/right on the left side. You get combos and find pieces for various upgrades. We give the game an 8 out of 10 and you can download it from here. We tested the game on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet.
