Gamestick $79 Android Gaming System Now up for Pre-Order
PlayJam is releasing the Android-based GameStick video game consoles, that are coming in April to backers of the company’s Kickstarter campaign. If you didn’t pledge money on Kickstarter you can preorder now a GameStick device from the company’s website for $79.
The GameStick is a game console on a stick, sort of like a USB flash drive. It includes a wireless game controller, with a slot that can allow you to store the stick when you’re not using it. The GameStick may feel familiar, because it’s a custom version of an Android TV Stick. This model packs an Amlogic AM8726-MX ARM Cortex A9 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage, WiFi and Bluetooth. There’s Android Jelly Bean as the OS here and everything is focused on gaming.
Preorders are available right now and customers can buy a case for $10 or a dock for $25, if you want accessories. The dock adds in the mix an SD card reader, extra USB ports, an Ethernet hack and HDMI port. There’s even wireless charging for the GameStick controller. You can even connect microphones, cameras and many other accessories to it.
