  • Legendary Queen frontman Freddie Mercury is set to get a tribute from Rovio, as he is included in Angry Birds as a character. The occasion here is Queen’s former frontman’s birthday on September 5th, that spawned the video you can see below.

You can see the angry birds you usually know riding a bike with Freddie, in the animated video set to Queen’s Bicyle Race. Rovio suports the annual Freddie for a Day campaign, that celebrates one of the best vocals of all time and raises funds for the HIV/AIDS charity Mercury Phoenix Trust. You can join the cause on Wednesday, by purchasing a Freddie Mercury Angry Bird T-shirt online at the Angry Birds and Bravado stores.

In 2011 Google commemorated Freddie’s birthday with their own dooddle. This is yet another rock initiative from Rovio, that recently launched a special set of levels related to Green Day’s latest albums. It’s nice to see their portofolio diversified and animations non related to actual games being released for a good cause.
