  • If you wonder about the latest soccer games that are taking over the market, you probably imagine FIFA 13 or maybe PES 13 or even the latest Real Football from Gameloft. However, there’s another hit out there, an unexpected one: Fluid Football. This is a strategy soccer game, that is bound to reach around 1 million downloads by Christmas time, having already passed the 500k mark on iPhone and iPad.

It has also reached Android recently and its makers say that it could reach the 500k milestone on Google’s platform by the year end. AppyNation is the publisher of the game and in case you’re wondering, the half a million downloads on iOS came from 16 August till now, so in a brief period of time. The Android version has been out for a bit over a week and it’s already registering tens of thousands of downloads per day. The idea of the game is simple: you draw lines on the pitch viewed from above and send players on runs in the penalty box or around it, then switch to a 3D view to shoot the ball.

You get a series of challenges, with scoring being your aim. This is both a collection of puzzles and a football simulator. Chromativity is the indie studio behind this title and its CEO Simon Prytherch is saying that the game has about 20k daily active user, with 40% of them on iOS and 60% on Android. The popularity of the game is due to its tactical side and also the fact that the football seasons recently started in all major countries gave the title a boost too.

If you want to see what the fuss is about you can download the game from here and know that it’s designed by real world soccer experts and tacticians.
