  • Flipboard for Android just got updated to version 1.9.7, that brings, among others audio features. The famous news reading application slash social networking resource is now available in the Play Store, in the new version. You can discover new music and share that with your friends through SoundCloud.

The cool thing is that if one of your friends finds a cool tune and recommends it on Soundcloud, it will appear on your Flipboard. The upgrade is merely 3 MB in storage space, so don’t expect too many new features. The usual bug fixes and performance enhancements are included, of course. I have to remind you that Flipboard originally debuted on the iPad and months later it reached Android, being preinstalled on devices like Galaxy S III, for example.

The main idea remains the same: Flipboard is a news reader with social accounts integrated and lots of flipping and swiping involved to get around the content and status in it. It’s all organized like a magazine/newspaper app. The Android version of Flipboard is optimized for phones, not tablets, although it runs decently on 7 inch slates. You can get the new version from here.
