  • Firefox has been available on Android for a while now and some people like its UI with the side tabs quite a bit. Well, now the folks of Mozilla promised something “big” for Android next week and maybe we’ll see them getting a presentation of their own at Google I/O 2012, that starts on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, rumors are saying that Chrome will take over in Android starting with Jelly Bean during Google I/O, so Mozilla might not actually make it to the event, since they have a rival product. Firefox for Android has been in beta phase for a while now and people liked about it the fact that it has Flash, but the performance wasn’t that good. It scores less than its rivals in Sunspider for example, plus it didn’t always respond to commands at its best.

Mozilla and the Chrome team at Google are very busy at the moment, working not only on new releases for Android, but also ones for Windows 8 and who knows, maybe even for Windows Phone 8? I guess we’ll have to wait and see what’s revealed next week… Till then you can download the Firefox beta from here.
