  • After finding out about a week ago that the Facebook Android app started to include a Trending section, it’s time for more novelty. The social network giant launched Groups for Android and iOS this week, offering new functionality. Their official Facebook Android app also got an UI revamp, as shown in the screenshots and video below.

This is a server-side change that will bring a Material Design touch to the app. The video seems to show an incredibly fluid experience and everything is cleaner and more aired out. Facebook hasn’t yet announced this brand new UI, that’s pretty much in beta phase, but a Material Change design was to be expected, just like the iOS version of Facebook got a revamped interface based on Apple’s new guidelines.

Distribution of the new update is happening at random, so you’d better be patient. It includes a flatter look, more colorful and circular icons. Colors seem to be stronger now, but the usual combo of blue, white and gray is still present at the core of the menus.
