Facebook Messenger Gets Updated With New Look and SMS-Like Feature
Facebook just updated its Android Messenger app with a new look, better speed and a quick messaging feature. You also have the ability to message people who are not on your Facebook contacts list, but they’re in your phone’s contact list.
All you need is their phone number to get started “texting each other”, as Facebook itself names their service now. The app also brings a new look, a flatter one and adapted to the evolution of the latest OSes, like iOS 7 and KitKat. You can tap across the top of the app or swipe left and right to see the recent conversations, a list of the people you message and your settings.
Facebook also offers stickers now to insert in your conversations, much like rivals Line. The recent updates that Facebook performed to its app remind us of similar features from the likes of Snapchat, WeChat and Whatsapp. In the meantime Facebook Messenger also wants to replace texting. Think they’ll make it? You can download the app here. By the way, you can also make free calls to friends in other countries using this app.
