  • Facebook finally updated its Android app, in an attempt to end complains from the users and appease them. The new version is 1.9.12 and adds a couple of new features. They include the option to share news stories from the timeline and the ability to create photo albums straight from the mobile application.

Photo tagging is also enhanced, but in what way they didn’t mention. The design of the Like/Comment and Share tabs that are placed below posts has also been restyled, with the result being an easier way to tap on those actions now. Overall this is a pretty minor update and the folks of Android Police are already reporting crashes on their phone, so it’s not all picture perfect, apparently.

Facebook is still working on a native Android app, that should come in the following months, the sooner the better. The update also brings a fix for the status update failure issue that affected some of the users. If you ask me what I’d like from their next update, well maybe a new way to integrate pics in the timeline, maybe one like Google+ and maybe a menu area that’s not so long to scroll in vertically. You can get the new Facebook from here.
