  • We wore impressed with what Google has done with the notification system in Android 4.1. Using two fingers gestures you can now expand and get a more detailed look of a notification and even activate some functions related to the app.

Not a great deal of developers are taking advantage of the new feature in Jelly Bean. Fortunately, the developers behind Evernote are not among them. The app has been recently updated to take advantage of the rich, interactive notifications in the new Android version. Version 4.2 of the most popular note taking app offers quick shortcuts to edit and share uploaded notes from the notification pull down. Also, using two fingers gestures, you are now presented with a thumbnail of images captured and a snippet of your text entry. Included with the latest update are also the usual bug fixes and performance improvements.

You can download the new version of Evernote for free from the Play Store.
