Ericsson Application Awards 2013 Officially Announced as Android-Based Developer Contest
Ericsson has just announced a new initiative related to apps, dubbed Ericsson Application Awards 2013. This is a competition for developers and a way to gain exposure in the telecom segment, plus a prize from Ericsson. I wonder why Ericsson is getting involved in the whole Android thing… Could they be preparing a comeback after being bought out of Sony Ericsson?
The competition is global and it’s open to both students and small/medium sized enterprises, meaning companies with less than 100 employees. There are two categories here, one for students and one for companies. The theme of the contest is “Apps for City Life” and the idea is to promote innovations to the Networked Society and help connect people, things and places, empowering individuals and society. The conditions of the competition include developing an application based on the Android platform, either web or native.
Participants should submit a demo video and a working prototype of the app by February 28, 2013. It must all be original work, obviously and know that you can win 25.000 euro for the first place, 10k for the second and 5k for the third. Details in our source link below!
