  • Following the recent Google Play Store update streak there goes another version to confirm the recent rumors about the Play Store Gift Cards. Google enabled Smart App Updates with the release of the Play Store version 3.8.15.  Next in line was version 3.8.16 which we suppose brought some hot fixes.

It has been rumored since Google released the Play Store update to version 3.8.15 that they will soon enable the option to purchase gift cards. Assets were found in the APK to confirm this theory and it seems the rumors were precise. With the latest release of the Play Store version 3.8.17 Google enabeled the option to redeem Gift Cards. This morning Google officially confirmed $10, $15, $25, and $50 Gift Card options available. With the new update you should now get the “redeem” option when pressing the 3dot menu key.

The new version of the Google Play Store should roll-out in stages. If your device hasn’t got it yet we posted the APK that you can download from here and install over the previous version.
