  • We’ve seen some very interesting offers from HoloApps, one developers that likes to keep its apps away from the Play Store. Previously we talked about HoloWeb, an incredibly fast and stylish web browser for Android. The developer has also made HoloNotes 2, a very lightweight notes app

The newest offer from HoloApps is called Holo Music and it offers a unique approach, something other developers should think of. The app has been designed to be very lightweight and fast. It also supports some unique energy saving features. First there is the design. The developer has integrated elements from the latest versions of Android 4.0/4.1. It looks great and does not require any understanding of the interface. You browse your library by Artist, Album or Tracks. You will bet info about the currently playing track in the notifications tray. It’s also very fast on scanning the music library.

Holo Music has beennamed – the energy efficient music player and thus integrates some features to make it go for many hours without draining your battery. However I found that the app asks for root permisions to change the energy profile. It may be just with my device, as the developer did not say anything about root requirements. You are able to change the energy settings using the dedicated button. Other features include (very) fast scrolling and Play Queue for playing an array of songs at once.

For those that want to test Holo Music, we’ve placed the APK here.
